The Julian Brown Recreational Soccer Scholarship covers the cost of participation in a recreational league for a single season of soccer play. Recreational leagues are offered by athletic clubs and by national or community organizations, such as the YMCA. The recreational or “rec” team places emphasis on equal playing time for all team members, regardless of level of proficiency. This type of league, sanctioned by U.S. Club Soccer and other national and state run organizations, gives the player a solid introduction to the game without the competitive pressure associated with advanced play.

Your contribution of $250.00 will be paid directly to a club or association on behalf of a deserving child or teen who would otherwise not be able to benefit from this experience. All Julian Brown Memorial Fund scholarships are allocated on the basis of merit and need. The selection of candidates is based on the evaluation of an application. The applicants are notified of the outcome prior to the start of the soccer season
