The Julian Brown Memorial Cup

Limoges Team Ties CUFC Team.jpgThe Julian Brown Memorial Cup soccer tournament is sponsored by the Charlotte United Futbol Club, under the auspices of U.S. Club Soccer.  The tournament is held in April, in commemoration of the tragic accident in France that took the lives of Julian Brown and Matthew Helms. The tournament has primarily drawn teams from eastern seaboard states and France.   In 2005, the  tournament's first year, 150 teams participated. By 2007, the tournament had grown to more than 225 teams. Last year, over 270 teams elected to attend.   This year, tournament organizers expect that over 350 teams will participate, with several teams making the trip from France and from the Bahamas.

The Julian Brown Memorial Cup is a fundraising effort for the Julian Brown Memorial Fund.  You can support the Fund by supporting the tournament.   All donations offset the hard dollar costs of the tournament. You can participate by making a financial contribution (click DONATE NOW)  or by purchasing items from the Gift Catalog.

We invite businesses to support the Julian Brown Memorial Cup. The tournament is a premier youth athletic event, and attracts newspaper and television coverage.  Direct tournament participants, parents, referees, coaches, team managers and spectators  will number in excess of 9000.
